This isn’t a film school. It replicates a professional post-production environment — the deadlines, the briefs, the critical feedback — so that by the time you graduate, you’re not just trained. You’re ready for the work you actually want.
Total immersion
Learning editing is like mastering a new language. In our 12-month course, you’ll focus on a new creative skill each month, editing four sequences against a full project brief — complete with director’s notes, required durations, and specific creative expectations. With weekly masterclasses, live cutting sessions, and in-depth 1-2-1 feedback, you’ll be fully immersed in the art of editing. By the end you’ll have transformed as an editor — and have the confidence to prove it.

Each month is carefully designed to balance learning with real pressure and real deadlines. The briefs are demanding, the feedback is rigorous, and the standards are high — because that’s what it takes to edit at the highest level.

Each month you master a new skill, building a portfolio of sequences and scenes for your showreel. At the end of each term you receive a grade and detailed written feedback, giving you a clear picture of your progress and where to focus next. After 12 months you graduate with a showreel that demonstrates your abilities, an accreditation that proves them, and the skills to edit at the highest level.

1-2-1 feedback: Analysing every shot of your work
In the 1-2-1 sessions, Paddy reviews your cuts and provides a detailed, shot-by-shot analysis. He evaluates your structure, shot flow, scene tonality, music use, and every creative element of your edits. You’ll receive specific focus areas and detailed notes on exactly what needs to change and why. This is the most thorough feedback you’ll receive in your editing career.

The Certified Pro Editor Accreditation is awarded by Inside The Edit to students who achieve a B- grade or higher across the full program. It’s a mark of genuine achievement — proof that you’ve completed one of the most demanding editing programs available and met the highest creative standards throughout.

Who should apply
The Pro Editor Program is for serious editors and filmmakers who are ready to commit fully to their craft. Places are limited and every application is reviewed individually.
SoftwareÂ
A working knowledge of an editing platform — Premiere Pro, Avid, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro.Â
Experience
Relevant industry experience or prior training in editing is required.
